Move On

“Getting over a painful experience is much like crossing monkey bars. You have to let go at some point in order to move forward.”
-C. S. Lewis

At an odd unlikely time, I am sharply reminded that I cannot pick up the shattered glass pieces of broken relationships without being cut.

It only proves that I do not have the capability to fix what is broken.

These things can’t be forced.
“Relationships are gifts from God. We don’t deserve any of them.”

Be thankful and move on.

And rest in the promise that our sovereign God is a God who restores to us the years that the locusts have eaten, who takes the rust of our failures and makes beauty from these ashes.

To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified. (Isaiah 61:3 NKJV)

  1. Aw, Michael… I’m so painfully aware of broken relationships, for one reason or another. Encouraged by this post & by your maturity in realizing that you don’t just go through some steps and everything’s back to normal.

Yet another reason for why Heaven will be so, so sweet. 🙂 Keep striving on, friend!
