Earlier today, a friend looked at me weird and I felt bad.
But I realize that it’s all grace.
I am ill-deserving of friendship or even the grace of human interactions at all.
When I close my eyes, I see every reason in my heart for God to condemn me to the damnedest part of hell,
But God spared me, saved me, and shared me the grace of being in His arms.
How then can I let a person’s weird look jeopardize my understanding of the sheer grace from Christ Jesus, who was slain to bring me new life?
“For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another.
But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared,
he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,
whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior,
so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.”
The gospel deepens our relationships.
