“To love is to be vulnerable” – CS Lewis
After speaking with a friend about this, I am sharply reminded about the cost of love.
Heartbreak is the cost of loving people.
People will trash your heart. The nature of sin is just that; we naturally want to rebel and destroy what is beautiful. We please ourselves, and in doing so, we thrash trash those around us.
Well-meaning overtures to another person can be shot down without a word and heartstrings can snap apart by the tension which only relationships bring.
You don’t start off enemies right away, but it’s so easy to separate close friends into worse than nemesis. From its genesis, one would almost never dare to think it possible, until the sad day of its fruition.
To love is to be vulnerable.
Yet, God’s steadfast love NEVER ceases.
His mercies are new every morning.
(Ref Lam 3:22-24)
To see the pain between man to man is great..
It would stretch our mind to imagine the AGONY between God and man.
As man raises up their fists in defiance, defecating the very one who created him, the grievances of the Almighty goes deep indeed.
Pain, so painful
Grievances, so grieved
Agony, so agonized
To the point of Calvary,
The blood-ridden Cross.
Our pain with man pales
With God’s pain with us.
“We love because He first loved us.”
